Sitting in the office, in the evening, with the light falling across my desk; ignoring the pile of work in my in-tray. Loving everything about my life, but wondering what it would be like if things had gone differently, and who I would have been, in a different setting or place or time.

But I'm far too old and sensible to want to recast my life as AU fic. So I read it instead. Just a little distraction at the end of the working day - as is this.
