Laura, I shoulda guessed you'd like my SF-things; I loved making them! Also, I was trying to shape the details about background and setting in the context of the narrative, for the key purpose of NOT making it all expositiony-"Look at my shiny future stuff" (and yet not be confusing!). As you rightly point out, lots of SF stories involve omiscient narrator info-dumps, which may be good world-building but IMO is bad storytelling. I am SO pleased it came off in the way I'd hoped!
And, can I just say how I LOVED that you said "this is all about the boys and how being famous can be isolating"? THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS TRYING TO MAKE. ♥!
