Post: What So Proudly We Hailed

Two posting days in a row is unusual for me, but then I saw the pics from david-daily.com which [livejournal.com profile] mitsurudemon posted, from Archie's Independence Day concert rehearsals at Capitol Hill.

Is that our boy, over whose (lean, tousled) ramparts those broad stripes and bright stars never looked so attractive? There's that brilliant, gleeful smile we all recognize, his unfettered excitement in singing for his nation on the 4th of July.

I love his expression in this photo as he strides past the billowing flags, weapon in hand. I tell myself that's new: that mature, settled confidence, the quiet strength. Or maybe it's always been there and I needed reminding. Whatever - I say I can see it now, anyway.

The passion, though - these pictures give proof to the David Archuleta we've known from the beginning: committed to his music, full-throated and intense as this summer day.

And oh, we hail him proudly, yes we do.

I love your analysis of BB David here. I could stare at that second picture for days because of the reasons you stated. If that strength and confidence has always been there, then it seems to me that he is just now showing it. Lot of things have changed for him it seems and I am loving it.

I have to say this is the David that gives me tingles in a silly place because when he is singing that sexy confidence just reels me in and I'm gone. These pics definitely capture some of that essence.

Of course I love the rambly, awkward, adorable David we see in interviews but singing!David owns my heart. The rest is just bonus. ♥

IKR? That second picture - you think, "Whoa, has he always looked this strong, this confident? Look at his stride, his smile..." - and then there's the first picture, where he smiles with sheer glee and looks like he's fifteen.

And then he sings, and sets everything on fire. (It owns me too, sweetness. ♥)
