AUs require artistic licence! I was talking to frackin_sweet last year about writing a Roman-era American Idol fandom AU, but we got hung up on the transposed new nomenclature this might require. (We did think that if we called our protagonist Biggus Davidus - in the Pythonian sense - we might get fired from fandom, so ;))
