Quickdrabbles Fic 36: Focused on what I could attract...
You made a pact, you dropped the act, you focused on what you could attract...
Meh, I'm feeling somewhat written out - I am working on a wedding story (a separate story
from the one on which I'm collaborating with the fabulous
frackin_sweet), and it's not going too well - and I want to start on this cracky R possibly-canon, possibly-AU bordello fic, and my guitars-by-gaslight AUbigbang, but I have just no impetus.
And I'm in Court this afternoon, WOE.
As a way of importuning the Muses, I thought I might try the drabbular method recently employed by
timeisgone,
kissesblow,
orochi_kitty and
otherbella.
Hundred word drabbles, snatches of story, any Cook, Anthemic, AIS7 pairing; crossovers with X-Men, BtVS/AtS, Discworld, Holmes, The Law. I think I have a tiny legalesque Cook/Ryan Seacrest somewhere! I'll even write you self-insert (of you). Leave me a prompt (word, song, whatever) and rating. Will turn around fast, so as to importune quickly XD

Gorgeous pic from the insanely talented

And I'm soooo looking forward to all those fics you listed. Particularly the wedding one.

For you, I will attempt Sherlock Cook and Dr John Archuleta, but it isn't likely to be very good, LOL.

*kicks wedding fic* Behave, ficcy. If you give Jay any more trouble I'll be forced to do something unpleasant.

IDEK WHAT THESE TWO BOYS DO TO ME.
the Reichenbach Faultline
- John loathes heights, loathes them, and it's most illogical of him to be clambering up a rope ladder into the sky, his left leg not working properly, precarious ropes all that stand between himself and gravity. But there it is, he can't let the dirigible unmoor and sail away, not with Mr Cook aboard -
- he heaves a sigh of relief when he reaches the side of the dirigible's basket; he throws an arm over its port side, scrambles over in a most undignified fashion, sprawls on her decks -
- "Doctor Archuleta, I presume," drawls Professor Cowell. He has Mr Cook's revolver in one hand, and it's carefully cocked in his fellow lodger's direction.
Mr Cook's eyes are calm, almost amused, as they meet John's somewhat frantic gaze. His vest is slightly torn, his frock coat and hat are missing, his shirt is open at the neck, flapping against his body in the high wind. His arms are secured behind his back.
John gets to his feet, warily, blood rushing in his ears; he's seized with the urge to hasten to Cook's side, to see if he's unharmed, to throw his arms around him -
