Quickdrabbles Fic 36: Focused on what I could attract...

You made a pact, you dropped the act, you focused on what you could attract...

Meh, I'm feeling somewhat written out - I am working on a wedding story (a separate story
from the one on which I'm collaborating with the fabulous [livejournal.com profile] frackin_sweet), and it's not going too well - and I want to start on this cracky R possibly-canon, possibly-AU bordello fic, and my guitars-by-gaslight AUbigbang, but I have just no impetus.

And I'm in Court this afternoon, WOE.

As a way of importuning the Muses, I thought I might try the drabbular method recently employed by [livejournal.com profile] timeisgone, [livejournal.com profile] kissesblow, [livejournal.com profile] orochi_kitty and [livejournal.com profile] otherbella.

Hundred word drabbles, snatches of story, any Cook, Anthemic, AIS7 pairing; crossovers with X-Men, BtVS/AtS, Discworld, Holmes, The Law. I think I have a tiny legalesque Cook/Ryan Seacrest somewhere! I'll even write you self-insert (of you). Leave me a prompt (word, song, whatever) and rating. Will turn around fast, so as to importune quickly XD

Gorgeous pic from the insanely talented [livejournal.com profile] ciudad, used with permission.

Oh, this is the best way to wake up EVER.

This is just so many shades of perfect. You totally captured the push/pull of the song, and omg, I loooove push/pull. And you got Kelly's (my favorite Kelly - brunette, angsty, non-commercial, My December Kelly) moody-crazy-guarded persona that she throws up because she's scared and grasping and David's sensitive, emotional, bright-eyed fucking openness that he can't shut off no matter how much it may hurt. But most of all, you encapsulated the fear of being in love, how it can be the thing that destroys you, but builds you up at the same time, and how knowing and being known is the most beautiful and dangerous thing we'll ever do.

*sigh...* Why don't people write this pairing more often? They just seem so perfect for one another. It just breaks my heart. Thank you so much for writing this, bb. I'm your fangirl for life. And I'm totally stockpiling prompts, now. ;D

Oh, bb, I was so happy to write this for you! I'm glad you thought I got them, because I do see this about them - moody, passionate, fiercely independent Kels, Dave bright-eyed and open, as you say; still wanting to keep hold of the commercial thing, at least for the moment.

And I love that you mentioned "the fear of being in love", how "it's the most beautiful and dangerous thing we'll ever do" - which comes through in the song, clear as a bell.

Awesome prompt <333
